Personal brand photographers don't just take great photos. We capture you. Who you are, what you stand for and what makes your brand different.

But not every brand photographer will be able to do that for you. To create visuals that truly reflect your personality, you need to work with a photographer who gets what you’re about and can bring it to life authentically.

So how do you find a good match? Start with these three questions.

Art studio interior with framed artwork on wall, dried flowers, and assorted bottles arranged on wooden surface.
An artist's workspace with watercolour supplies, brushes and art materials arranged on a wooden table beneath framed seascape prints.

Question 1: What's Included?

It's easy to get caught up in the excitement of a photoshoot, but what happens after the camera clicks? Some photographers only provide a small selection of edited images, and this can leave you without the variety of visuals you need for different platforms and purposes.

A great brand photography package should go beyond just a handful of images. Look for a photographer who provides…

Professionally Edited Digital Images

Professionally edited images are beautiful and fit for immediate use. Having access to these files gives you flexibility when it comes to future use, allowing you to resize, edit and repurpose the images.

Video Clips

Short, high-quality nuggets of video are engaging and can be used on social media and websites, helping to tell your story.

Curated Reels

Reels that have been expertly put together and are ready to use across your platforms save you time and effort!

Preparation Support

Booking a photo shoot can be intimidating. A great photographer will take the time to understand you and your brand, talk you through their approach, provide guidance on outfits, props and locations and help you to feel confident on the day.

And how do I know what a great brand photographer includes in their package? Because that’s exactly what I offer. I go the extra mile to make sure you are primed for a successful shoot and walk away with everything you need to enhance your marketing.

Question 2: What Style Of Photography?

Photography is a broad and varied industry, and not every photographer will be a good fit for what you’re after. Think of it like walking into a high-end clothes shop - everything on offer is stunning, but it’s not all quite your thing.

Finding the right photographer takes a little time, but it’s worth the effort. Start by looking at potential photographers’ portfolios. Which images speak to you? Some photographers focus on corporate-style posed headshots, whereas others capture personality-driven visuals that tell the brand’s story.

What’s my style, you ask? I fall into the second category. You won’t find stiff poses or corporate vibes here! My approach blends authenticity with intention, focusing on capturing natural, candid moments that reflect who you are and what your personal brand stands for.

Question 3: What's The Time And Money Investment?

Creating a strong personal brand takes time. It’s all about planning, creating and refining your visual identity, and it’s important to get it right.

That’s why it's crucial to understand the investment that’s required right from the word go. Without that clarity on cost and expectations, you might run into problems later down the line, like fewer images than you wanted or a package that doesn’t meet your marketing needs.

Developing a highly skilled and unique photography style takes years of experience and talent, and pricing can differ drastically between professional photographers. Be sure to ask for a rundown of costs early in your conversation, and remember that most of their work lies in the editing and post-production stage, which is reflected in the pricing.

Professional brand photography is an investment in your brand’s future. My pricing starts at £250 for headshots, with personal branding shoots ranging from £450 for a half-day to £700 for a full day - and video add-ons are also available.

With high-quality, versatile images and video, you'll have a strong foundation for incredible marketing content for months to come.

Other Questions To Ask

Don’t be afraid to ask plenty of questions. A trustworthy, professional photographer will be happy to answer them.

What’s Your Process?

Every photographer works differently. Understanding the flow from booking to receiving your files ensures you’re both on the same page. Check this out for more about how I work.

How Long Will It Take To Get The Final Images?

When you partner with me, you can typically expect to receive your final images within 2-4 weeks of the photoshoot. Discussing timeframes with your potential photographer is important to ensure everyone is working to the same timescales (and no one is disappointed).

Can I Bring My Dog/Cat/Child/Favourite Houseplant?

If they are part of your brand story, absolutely! While it isn't a family shoot, including pets, children, or favourite houseplants can enhance your relatability. Other photographers may have different rules, so it’s always best to ask.

Do I Need To Credit The Photographer?

Again, always check with your photographer. If we’re working together, you do not have to credit me when you share the images on your platforms. We have created them together to promote you and your brand, and that’s that. (If you plan to use them in print media, get in touch to chat about it.)
