Read Between the Deadlines

A business book club for women who are building something.

I started this because running your own business can feel a bit like shouting into the void. You read the books, you get that burst of motivation, and then the inbox happens and nothing really changes. I wanted a room full of women who'd notice if I didn't follow through. So I made one.

Every two months we read one business book. On the second Thursday of the month we meet at my studio in Hampshire, grab a drink and talk about what's actually worth trying in our own businesses. Then everyone leaves with one thing they're going to do. Next time, we check in on how it went. That's the bit that makes the difference.

What you'll get

Accountability. You set one goal at the end of each evening. At the next session, we ask how it went. Kindly. But we do ask.

Community. A small group of women who know what it's like to be the boss, the admin team and the person who empties the bins. No pitching, no hard sell, just honest conversation.

Growth. Six good business books a year, actually read and actually used. Small changes every couple of months add up to a lot.

How the evening runs

6.30pm: Drinks, nibbles and a catch up

7pm: Quick check in on last session's goals

7.15pm: We talk about the book (no judgement if you only got halfway)

8pm: One person brings a real business challenge and we all chip in

8.15pm: Everyone sets their next goal

8.30pm: Home time. Or, more likely, still chatting by the door

Who it's for

Women who run their own business, whether you've been going ten years or ten weeks. You don't need to be a big reader. You just need to want to grow, and be happy to have people cheering you on.

The first two books

January: Good Girl Rebellion by Anna Campbell. For every woman who's ever undercharged, overdelivered and said yes when she meant no. Written by a Scottish business coach and shortlisted at the 2026 Business Book Awards, so chances are you haven't read it yet.

March: Four Thousand Weeks by Oliver Burkeman. A funny, honest book about time, and why you'll never get everything done (which turns out to be good news).

After that, we choose the books together. It's your club too, so members get a say in what we read next.

Pricing

Pay as you go: £20 a session. Drinks, nibbles and a discussion guide. You bring the book.

Session and book: £32 a session. All of the above, and I'll post you the book four weeks before we meet.

Annual membership: £165 for all six sessions. All six books posted to you, first dibs on seats, and a members' WhatsApp group to keep each other on track between sessions.

Questions

What if I haven't finished the book? Come anyway. Honestly, I'd rather you were there.

Can I bring a friend? Yes, if there's room. Just let me know first.

Is this a networking group? Not really. Nobody's going to hand you a business card over the crisps. But you'll probably leave with a few new friends, and maybe a collaboration or two.

Save your seat

Spaces are capped at 15 so everyone gets a proper say. Get in touch to book your place, or join for the year and I'll sort the books for you.
